Spirits Brand
Regional Sales Manager - Southeast
Our client, a growing premium spirits brand, is looking for a Regional Sales Manager to lead commercial growth across key markets throughout the Southeast. This is a builder role, not a maintenance role. They need someone who knows how to grow a market, build strong distributor partnerships and create meaningful pull-through across both on- and off-premise accounts.
Regional Sales Strategy & Growth
- —Own sales performance across assigned Southeast markets, delivering against revenue, volume, distribution and depletion goals.
- —Develop market-level strategies based on account opportunity, consumer behavior and competitive dynamics.
- —Identify priority markets, accounts and channels that can accelerate regional growth.
- —Build annual, quarterly and monthly market plans with clear priorities and measurable outcomes.
- —Monitor performance and adjust quickly when markets, programs or partners are underperforming.
Distributor Management
- —Serve as the primary commercial relationship with distributor partners across the region.
- —Establish clear expectations around distribution, programming, inventory, execution and performance.
- —Conduct regular business reviews and use data to identify gaps and opportunities.
- —Work closely with distributor sales teams to ensure the brand receives the appropriate focus and attention.
- —Hold partners accountable while maintaining productive, solutions-oriented relationships.
- —Identify when an issue requires stronger distributor execution versus direct intervention from the brand.
Market Development & Key Accounts
- —Build and maintain relationships with influential on- and off-premise accounts.
- —Develop a strong understanding of the accounts, operators and buyers shaping spirits consumption within each market.
- —Secure new distribution while increasing velocity within existing accounts.
- —Identify opportunities with regional chains, independent retailers, hospitality groups and high-impact on-premise accounts.
- —Spend meaningful time in market alongside distributor teams, customers and trade partners.
Execution & Brand Building
- —Ensure national brand priorities translate into strong local market execution.
- —Partner with marketing to activate programs that drive trial, visibility and sell-through.
- —Evaluate opportunities based on commercial impact, not simply activity.
- —Maintain premium brand standards across accounts, activations and trade relationships.
- —Bring market intelligence back to leadership to inform broader commercial decisions.
What We're Looking For
- —7+ years of progressive sales experience within spirits, wine or beverage alcohol.
- —Strong knowledge of the Southeast U.S. spirits landscape.
- —Demonstrated experience managing distributor relationships within the three-tier system.
- —Proven ability to grow markets, secure distribution and improve depletion performance.
- —Established relationships across relevant distributors, retailers, hospitality groups and/or key accounts.
- —Experience managing multiple states or markets simultaneously.
- —Strong commercial instincts with the ability to turn data and market intelligence into action.
- —Comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial environment where resources may be lean and priorities can move quickly.
- —Willingness to spend significant time in market and travel throughout the region.
The Person Who Will Thrive Here
- —You know the difference between having distribution and actually building a market.
- —You are comfortable walking into a market where the opportunity is bigger than the current infrastructure and figuring out what needs to happen next.
- —You can manage senior distributor relationships and still spend a day in the field understanding why the product is or isn't moving.
- —You bring urgency without creating chaos, relationships without becoming dependent on them and enough commercial judgment to know where your time will have the greatest impact.
- —Most importantly, you operate like an owner. You don't wait for someone else to tell you what the market needs.
Non-Negotiables
- —Direct experience in spirits or beverage alcohol.
- —Experience managing distributor relationships.
- —Proven success owning a multi-state territory.
- —Strong understanding of both on- and off-premise sales.
- —Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the Southeast.
Territory
- —The role will oversee key markets throughout the Southeastern United States. Candidates should be based within the region with convenient access to a major airport. Travel: Approximately 40–60%.
